Hi

We a site that will be storing 100,000 + word documents

We want to make these documents available to our users quickly and efficiently

Can anyone shed some light on a possible storage/file server solution

We are willing to dedicate one machine to serving up these .doc/.rtf files, but wanted to know if anyone has any experience working with large amounts of word documents

Thanks

Hello,

Check-out eDocShare for a solution. Very easy to use/setup, full-text
search, check-in/check-out, etc.

edoc is a company you can judge from their marketing techniques: they do
silly things like anonymously post inane questions to news forums, then post
answers purporting to come from happy customers. Stay away!

Hmm.. now why would you say that?

I was just answering the question regarding the storage of 100,000
documents. Maybe you're a competitor... jealous of our success or you lost a
sale to our superior product :)

Sorry, but if you're suggesting that we posted the question below, you're
wrong. If we wanted to put a "plug" in the newsgroup, we'd just put a "plug"
in the newsgroup.

Have a good system for naming and storing your documents (folders).

Lies upon lies? Or is it just coincidence that both question and answer come
from the same server?

Jealous of your success? Hardly. Not the business I'm in, and you have no
success worth boasting about anyway.

Hi Jezebel,

Where do you see anything like that? The original question
comes from the Microsoft webpage interface (CDO). There's no
telling where the poster comes from originally, that I can
see..
