Store offline files on another hard drive

I want to synchronise a folder located on another computer so that that I can
use it online. The problem is that it seems WinXP (SP2, swedish, all patches)
automatically puts all of the data om my C: drive. That drive is full, so I
would like to put the offline data on somewhere on the D: drive instead.

Is that possible? How to do it?

Staffan,

Relocation of Offline Files can be done only using CacheMov.exe (available
in Windows 2000 Resource Kit CD).

Alternately, you may use this method below, posted earlier by Ryan Winland
[MS] and Torgeir Bakken.

This method does not need Cachemov.exe tool, but uses the NTFS junction. An
NTFS directory junction allows you to redirect the directory/file request to
another location. Tested under Windows 2000, and might work in Windows XP.
If your Windows 2000 (or XP) partition is NTFS, try this:

Boot into Safe Mode and delete the contents of the CSC folder. While still
in Safe Mode, create a reparse point (junction) in the %SystemRoot%\CSC
folder and point it toward another partition or a folder in another
partition. Use the Logical Disk Manager (Computer Management\Storage\Disk
Management) to mount a partition or SysInternals Junction to mount a folder.
