I need to clear out email that I have synchronized to
offline folders. But I cannot select the "only when
online" option in the Syncronization tab under the
properties. Anyone know how I can unselect the "when
offline or online" and select the "only when online" option???

I'm confused - why can't you just delete the items you wish and synchronize
to the server again to your mailbox?

Or are you saying you want to stop synchronizing certain folders entirely?
What version of Outlook, and which folders?

I have outlook 98.

I want to delete all of my offline inbox and sent box. But
If I do that off line and then sync won't it then try to
delete what I have online and I do not want to do that. So
I thought I could delete all of the stuff offline and then
turn off the sync... then when I get back online I wont
have to worry about any syncing to delete my online folder
stuff

Ah....

You can't choose not to sync your default folders in OL98. And your ost is a
full copy of your maiilbox. If you delete it offline, it's eventually
deleted online when you sync. What's the purpose of deleting the items
offline anyway?

I am going to Europe with my work computer and I am not
supposed to have technical data on it. I have moved all of
my files but many of my emails have tech data on them. I
guess one way is to move all of my email to my folders on
the our servers and then sync while on line and that should
erase the offline stuff.

Any other ideas?

Thanks

Bob
