0x000000ED: UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME

Power off
Desktop:...Open the case and reseat the hard drive IDE ribbon cable at both
ends.
Laptop/Portables:... simply remove and reinsert the hard drive.
If that fails:

Otherwise go to the website of the hard drive manufacturer and download
their hard drive diagnostics.

Do you have a hard drive overlay such as Max Blast?
Windows XP sometimes has issues with overlay software.
You may need to perform a Clean Installation without their overlay software
which is not needed anyway.

Hi,

The 0XC0000032 offset suggests that you may have a failed/failing file
system. A checkdisk will have to be performed. Since we cannot get into the
system to perform the check we have to use recovery console ( Description of
the Windows XP Recovery Console http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=314058 )

Once your in recovery console at the prompt type in chkdsk /r and press enter.
Let it do its thing. It will take some time. It will either find and fix
errors or have unrecoverable errors. If it finds and fixes you may have
resolved the problem. If the other you may have a failed drive or the file
system is too far gone and formatting may be the only option to test.

Once the chkdsk finishes type exit and hit enter.

See if you can boot at this point.

Good luck.
