I have windows Xp in windows2000 domain.I want to stop unnecessary services
on XP?How can i now which services are not needed for Windows Xp in network?

I have a related issue concerning processes - taking a glance at task manager reveals several duplicate processes (especially of type svchost) - which are needed and which aren't
Also I have noticed mgui.exe often taking up 90% proccesor capacity, which seems needless - what is this process (I know it is essential since many viruses attempt to shut it down)?

It's normal to have several SVCHOST processing running concurrently. See...
