stop pop ups and restrict porno sites and improve performance

Hi

I would like some software that will stop pop ups and
restrict my children from going to porno sites. I would
also like a firewall to stop hackers from attacking my
machine.

Also, does anyone know of any free software that will
improve the performance of my pc. It seems to be running
very sluggish. RAM is 128mb, Hard disk size is 30GB

What do you recommend?

There are various progs out there for restricting what sites your children
visit e.g Net Nanny, Cyber Patrol etc

There are also a few Free Firewalls about, Zone Alarm free is very good

You can't totally restrict porn sites, there are too many that the
software won't catch, talk to the children instead. That being said,
here's some reviews of filtering software:

Firewalls: Kerio, Sygate, Zone Alarm. Google will give you the URL for
each. Kerio is, by a teeny margin, the best IMHO, ZA, by a teeny
margin, the easiest to use. All three will work well and not be too
difficult to setup.

It's not free, but to speed up the machine I'd try adding more memory,
256mb should improve performance quite a bit.
