Hi,

Does anyone know how to remove MSN Messenger from XP and prevent users to
reinstall the program? I've removed completely the program from the system,
but users download a new version from Microsoft website and they just
reinstall the program!!

Users have administrative rights, this because critical programs running on
their systems need to have local user total accesss.

I've close the TCP port 1863 on the fire wall but the program still connects
to internet using (I think) the TCP port 80 ...

Any ideas ?

Thanks for your help.

Then nearly anything you do will be futile, overall, even if you get this
particular thing licked.

Pshaw. I bet you can work around that. See FileMon and RegMon from
www.sysinternals.com - see if you can determine where the software expects
to find more access than it has, in the file system and registry, and then
change the permissions appropriately. Also, holler at the software
developer.

Yep - you can't really expect to do much there, unfortunately.
