Stop IE from opening up my Excel Spreadsheets from the web?

Everytime I go to my website where I have a spreadsheet link, I try to
open up the link, instead of asking me to save the file or open the
file, the spreadsheet gets open in IE directly.

Does anyone know how to stop this??? I don't want the Excel Spreadsheet
to automatically open in IE. Has anyone come accross this?
