Dear People:

I don't think this is a serious technical problem, but it is DRIVING ME
CRAZY!! Every time I start or restart my computer, and it finishes booting,
and my desktop is serene, this horrible little error window just pops up. It
shows a path with the specified file at the end, in which it states
"specified module could not be found". I will give you the path and file name
the way it displays it for me:
C:\PROGRA~1\MYWEBS~1\bar\1.bin\MWSBAR.DLL

Now I think I figured out that this module has been deleted along with an
awful little program I decided to delete, but there is something in the
computer that tries to call it up. It is been happening for the past couple
of days. I click the error window closed, everything seems okay, but I just
don't want to have to do that day in and day out.

Does anyone have an idea of how to stop it? I do have Windows XP Pro.

I thank you ahead of time for any suggestions that might come my way:)

Open the registry editor by typing "regedit" in the Run box, accessed from
the Start menu.

Navigate to:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Look for an entry with the troublesome path from the error message.

Right click, delete, confirm.

Restart the computer, and see if the error appears again.

Hope this helps

Tom C.

Check in Msconfig for any oddities.
(Start-Run-MSCONFIG-Startup tab)
If you cannot see anything in Msconfig then:

Start-Run-msinfo32
Click the + beside Software Environment to expand.
Click Startup Programs
Ctrl+A to Select All, Ctrl+C to Copy.
Paste that information in your message.

Alan, thank you. I finally figured out your instructions, and it did work. I
found the path in the configuration utility, and disabled it. I don't see
the error box anymore when I boot up. Thanks so much :))

Tom, I just want to thank you for replying to my plea for help. I did finally
stop the error message from popping up by going into the system configuration
utiltiy and finding the troublesome path, and then disabling it. :)
