Stop detecting serial mice?

I am having trouble stopping XPe from detecting what it thinks are serial
mice connected to the serial ports. Have /NoSerialMice in boot.ini, which
helps, but still on some reboots get the serial mouse detected stuff.
Removed /fastdetect also in boot.ini, still trouble.

Is there a way once and for all to stop the serial mouse detection?

was doing the same thing. The fix was in the registry. I don't have the
exact fix in front of me but here is a link
