Stop: 0xc0000218

OK, so I'm getting the "Stop: 0xc0000218" error regarding the registry. I realize that I have to install and boot from the Recovery Console. If I do this, will I lose all of the files on my computer? If so, how would I get them off of my computer before I do it (for those of you who don't realize, I can't just burn it because I can't access windows)
 
You can try to boot off XP installation CD and do a repair. If repair does
not work, your next choice would be to do a new installation of XP into a
different folder name(DO NOT CHOOSE FORMAT), but I hope you have enough room
for the new second installation of XP.

By the way when you do a repair or a new installation of XP, this does not
harm your data.

You only harm your data when you format and do a clean installation, so DO
NOT format and do a clean installation
