Hi,

I keep getting a a 'Stop 0x0000008e' error message in
Win32k.sys. I've checked the MS KB and it is a known
problem. The link is http://support.microsoft.com/default.
aspx?scid=kb;en-us;834450&Product=winxp. To solve the
problem I have to contact MS directly and (in all
probability) pay for a fix. If there is a fix for this,
why do they not offer it via registered download?

Incidentally, my system specs are: WinXP Home (fully
up-to-date), Logitech MX700 mouse and cordless keyboard, 2
x Seagate SATA drives.

Cheers,
SRJ

Hi

Try the following link to MVP Jim Eshelman's web page:

I'm getting the same thing in XP Pro. I refuse to pay
for MS problems. They charge enough for their "buggy"
software and should provide FREE support for all the
problems they cause.
Come back DR DOS all is forgiven!
