I recently reinstalled Windows XP on my desk top computer
and at the end of the reinstall received a blue screen
with the error:
"STOP 0x0000007E (0xC0000005, 0x804EB7DA, 0xF8988A6C,
0xF898876C)".

I have read the Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 330182
about this problem. The article describes some possible
causes of, and solutions for, the problem. However, my
computer has been working normally since I completed the
Windows XP reinstall about a week ago. I have not
received any further error messages. Before I investigate
the cause of the error, I would like to know what
possible consequences there are for my computer of
receiving the error. If there are no consequences and my
computer can be expected to continue operating normally
then I wont bother investigating. Can anyone suggest some
possible future problems please?

7E is near the middle of the page,
Looks like hardware or a driver issue

Windows XP might have been trying to install hardware attached to the
computer, remove attached hardware devices such as Scanners and Printers and
try again.

Are you saying it's running fine now? If so I personally wouldn't worry
about it unless it appears again.

Yes my computer has worked fine since the reinstall but I was interested in
knowing whether there are any nasty surprises in store and what sort of
surprises I can expect.

I don't think there is any way to tell based on one isolated incident.
