stolen product key

I just built a new PC and installed win XP Pro on it. In the minutes it took
me to install and fire up Zonealarm and AV software - my new PC got infected
with a virus! I checked into it, and one of the payloads of this virus is
that it steals product keys from various apps, including windows xp.

Is this a problem for me? Should I report my product key to MS anywhere?

Alistair;
Should not be a problem as long as you have the original license, CD
Product Key etc.

Install an updated AV application and verify your computer is clean.
Install all Critical Updates.

Immediately change any passwords you may have.

In the future install/enable your firewall BEFORE physically
connecting the network cable.
It only takes seconds for an unprotected computer.
