Still slow

The PC with half as much RAM and half the processor runs several times
faster than this one (same applications and services running).

I ran Spybot S&D and then Ad-aware. Adaware took several hours and found 114
things like common name. I removed these. I am running Ad-aware on the other
PC and it appears to be running faster than it did on this one.

System Sytem in task manager is still generally the highest CPU usage. The
other PC almost always shows system idle processes (this PC used to when it
ran faster) which I expect is normal when nothing much is running and Access
is not running (Access even takes over the Idle process when doing nothing
but when Access is idle PC speed is normal).

Do you have antivirus software, have you run a virus scan lately with a
fully updated antivirus application? Spybot and Ad Aware are very good
tools and I recommend them but they are not a replacement for antivirus
software, they supplement antivirus software.

I have Norton Internet Security (includes NAV) and manually keep it up to
date since it can't do that itself.

Used the other computer to view the event log (stopped at only loading the
wallpaper but shares were accessible from the other PC) - the app log is
full of:
Error date time Srv None 2000 N/A Computer

The time being just about the same time. The only information is:
The server's call to a system service failed unexpectedly.

Powered off then turned on using boot log mode.

This have been running fine until I plug in the Kyocera 2235. Then if I try
to (re-)install drivers particularly the modem driver and do a diagnose the
machine virtually hangs. I unplug the cable from the USB port and I'm back
in action. Tested on other PC to confirm the cable and 'phone are OK. Short
of re-installing windows what are the options - The driver doesn't
uninstall.

Check the device manufacturer's website for updated drivers. If there are
none or the problem persists and only appears when this device is connected,
you need to contact Kyocera tech support.
