I have disabled everything in starup and iam still
getiing the message windows canniot find monitor.exe
please can someone help it driving me mad.

There are three places that things can hide from you at startup. First
place to look is under Start-All Programs-Startup. Enable hidden files
and check this folder for possible executable/batch files that may be
looking for monitor.exe.

Second place to look is in the registry. Click Start-Run-Type regedit
and click OK. Expand to this directory:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Look for monitor.exe in both of those folders. If you find it, right
click on the key pointing to it and delete it. Be careful not to change
anything in the registry other than this or that which you know what you
are doing.

Finally, check the system services. Click Start-Run-Type services.msc
and click OK. Now look for Monitor or anything that resembles that
(even random names with jumbled letters and numbers). Again, it is
important not to change anything unless you know what you are doing or
are sure you have found what you are looking for. Double click on
suspicious services and check the file name\info assocaited with the
service. If you find one that points to monitor.exe, try setting it to
disabled and reboot.
