Still deleting dbx files . . . every dam day.

Irregardless of whether I use a NTFS or FAT32 filesystem - I have at least
two (2) corrupt dbx files and must DELETE those folders--- everyday.

INBOX: always + one (1) of the following -
Deleted Items: sometimes
Drafts: sometimes
User created folders: sometimes

Hmm: Sent Items and Out Box have never been corrupted--- yet.

Check Disk/Automatically Fix File System Errors (at reboot) has been run . .
.. with no change in dbx corruption.

Additionally: XPSP2 was installed saturday - still have corruption.

With this consistent--- daily corruption, perhaps the OS has incorrectly
identified me as a US Government Agency?

"With this consistent--- daily corruption... XPSP2 was installed
saturday"
idiot

The statements indicate that I began with XP NTFS, formatted and installed
XP FAT32--- then installed XPSP2 on XP FAT32 when the CORRUPTION continued.

Referring to someone as an "idiot" when one cannot provide the solution is
not the answer.

I do hope that tomorrow is a more positive day for you.

Johann;
Try a newsgroup more specific to your problem.
Both Outlook and Outlook Express have their own newsgroups:
http://aumha.org/nntp.htm

Thank you.

I BELIEVE the PROBLEM lies with the filesystem (FAT32/NTFS) and that is
specific to performance and maintenance as in
"microsoft.public.windowsxp.perform_maintain".

"Johann; Please try a newsgroup more specific to your problem as the corrupt
dbx files you refer to are not affectd (created or maintained) by the use of
either filesystem: FAT32 OR NTFS.", would have been the appropriate
response, if, indeed--- it were true.

Your response, if any, would be appreciated BELOW this line. (Top posting by
a MVP is not professional.)
Otherwise please have the courtesy to remove [MVP] from your signature. (It
reflects *negatively* on actual professionals.)

Go to an Outlook Express Group? Right!

I tell them that I have corruption in a dbx file; they're going to tell me
that is a filesystem/windowsxp problem and send me WHERE?
Right BACK here!

I had NO corrupt files in Windows for Workgroups 3.11 nor Windows 95. A few
every three (3) or four (4) months in Windows 98SE. Windows XP--- every dam
day . . regardless of the filesystem.

Control Panel / Add Remove Programs / Windows Components / Outlook Express
also has NOT solved the problem ( I assume it "repaired" when I clicked it).

XPSP2, installed 08/14/2004, brought no resolution - it also did not bring
any problems . . . as reported in the media.

Tonight I decided to open OE6, empty the Inbox AND Deleted Items. inbox.dbx
should have reported 139 KB for size after this was done. It reported 8,343
KB. I shut down re-booted and checked again - still reporting 8,343 KB.
Opened OE6 and Inbox=empty.

I did attempt to help myself before sending the original post on 08/17/2004
11:49 AM therefore if you feel the need to flame me: proceed.
