Sticky Keys Display Prob

The accessibility feature "Sticky Keys" has an option to
display key status in the system tray. In a problem that
seems to go back to 98 or ME the system tray display does
not persist after a system reboot. The only workaround
seems to be to uncheck/apply/recheck/apply the display
option. Has anyone heard of this problem? Is there a
fix? Any help will be greatly appreciated

Tried that already. Set it for "always show." It is just gone after every reboot.
