Stay Away Internet Explorer!

I want to use and have been using Firefox. But even though I set
Firefox to be the default browser, IE keeps coming back as my default
some few hours later. How can stop this?

There's a checkbox on the 'Programs' tab of (Tools >) Internet Properties to
stop it checking whether it's the default browser or not.

Yup - and it is not checked and as far as I know always has been. So
the fact that this is happening is a mystry - to me at least.

Also take a look in

Control Panel > Add / Remove Programs > Set Program Access and Defaults
(left pane) > Click black arrow next to Custom >....

You can configure Firefox to be your default browser in there too.
