status/disconnect screen

My status screen used to come up after I closed out of all programs so I could just click on "disconnect" (from the internet) but it after using it a couple times it no longer comes up. Then I have to double click on the computer icons at the bottom. I can't seem to figure out how to fix it. Any ideas? (Seems like it works after restarting but I don't want to have to restart to make it work)

May not be exactly what you have in mind, but take a look at Control
Panel|INTERNET OPTIONS|CONNECTIONS...

Click on SETTINGS, then on ADVANCED and note the disconnect options in the
Advanced Dial-Up configuration box.
