Hi,

I'm a minimalist, so what im about to request isn't necessarily a
problem, but rather a preference. I've done plenty of online research,
and I've found no help regarding it. So before I head off to modifying
the registry (which i doubt plays a big role in this), i thought I'd
ask the experts..

The status bar in Windows Explorer (not internet explorer) is of a
great help to me, but it shows additional information that I do not
need to know..and sometimes redundant. I'd like to get rid of this.

To better explain, here's an image:

This should be universal; not limited to a specific file type, but to
all types. I do not want that little metadeta strip, but I do want the
megabyte summation on the corner.

Thanks

Open Registry Editor and :
HKCR\*
Delete the items you dont need from InfoTip value.
Then repeat this for each file type. For Example, if you want to remove date modified
from exe files then:
Go to HKCR\.exe > Read the default value
Go to HKCR\defaultValueOf.exe > Right side, double click InfoTip
Delete "Write;" and click OK

Hi.

"HKCR\*
Delete the items you dont need from InfoTip value. "

^^ Seems to do the trick for me. I deleted everything from the Infotip,
and now it displays nothing, except for '1 object selected' - im happy.
I'm unsure what the rest of the steps do. Could you please explain?

Thanks
