status bar disappears

i have tried all the answers given, checked the registry shows the "yes" to
show status bar and show url in status bar and still no luck!! can anyone
help this is so frustrating,
 
Open Windows Explorer/View/Status Bar. Click Tools/Folder Options/View/Apply to all folders. Works for IE as well.
