Startup Programs

[Only Slightly annoyed]

How do delete start up programs? Whenevr i boot up a
couple of programs start and remain useless on my
taskbar. I've tried going
into 'Start', 'Programs', 'Accessories', 'System
tools' 'system information' but u cant delete their start
up status there, u can just look at them
