Startup Problems

Can anyone help? Recentlry downloaded some updates for
windows xp In my new compaq desktop and now when starting
up it goes into a stanby or hibernate mode and it takes
about 5 tries to get to the desktop. Has anyone
encountered this problem and whats the fix. Any help would
be gratly appreciated. Pete

Uninstall the Updates in reverse order to see which one is causing the problem
