Startup problems

Hello
I installed windows xp professional and after a while no matter what softwares i have installed, the computer refuse to start. It's stuck on the windows xp logon screen and just keep on running the blue line. I can start at safe mode, so i tried to select which services and boot items should start, and still nothing. I tried all. When i used /bootlog i saw that afd.sys coudln't start. I repaired with the setup disc and it's ok. But i just that it happens again
What can be the cause
Are there any tools that can help me
