Startup issue

Good day everyone and happy new year to all.....

I have a startup issue (after a youngster used my computer).... the
computer starts up but there is no logon screen and i cannot get windows to
start.
Could this be a kernel32.dll issue?

First thing to try: Boot hitting F8 as BIOS info goes to black, and
from the menu
Safe Mode - Command Prompt

In that give the command
C:\windows\system32\restore\rstrui.exe

which will load the System Restore graphic control, and use it to
restore to a date before the youngster came around
