I am wondering if there was away to boot the operating system to its
operating state rather than having to click on user name in the welcome
screen . just after the round vista symbol appears .

thanks

That's the hard way.

Easier, the same as with XP: Click start, type CONTROL USERPASSWORDS2 and
hit <enter>. Click on your user account in the list. Uncheck the box to
require a username and password, then click apply/ok and follow the prompts
to create the automatic logon.

Thanks Rick Rogers ,worked like a charm ..I timed my restart and it takes
1min 40 sec for the system to be back at its operational state.
