Startup: how do I skip BIOS setup alert?

When I do a restart, the BIOS page pops up and I must, "Exit without
saving Changes", in order to proceed.

I would prefer to skip this and avoid having to sit around each time I
restart in order to manually re-queue the boot.

I have a slave HD which might well have a few negligible errors on it.
Both drives are NNTP formatted.

Hi David;

That is the point.

When I choose, "Exit and Save", it kicks back to restart and the cycle
continues; back to the BIOS menu again.

Hi,

I would suspect that your CMOS battery is dead and the system BIOS is
resetting every time the power is cycled. Suggest changing the battery so
that the settings are retained and you should not be prompted upon restart.

My battery is up to spec, and I have no idea how to tell if I am over
clocked,.The situation occurs on cold restarts too.

Just put a new battery in and see if that fixes the problem. They cost
around $4.00USD. If the new battery doesn't fix the problem, then you
have other hardware issues. Do the easiest, cheapest troubleshooting
first; i.e., change the battery.

Try a different keyboard.

This problem existed before I replaced the battery in November.
"BatCheck", indicates this one is still way up in the green.

Keyboard:
I want a reasonable explanation why spending $$$ replacing a 6 month old
keyboard would be feasible under the circumstances.
There are no other indications this one is peculiar. Of course, if you
want to buy me one and ship it, then I'll believe you actually believe
what you are saying. Otherwise....

Please quote what you reply to.

I did not say go out and BUY a new keyboard, I said TRY a different
keyboard. Surely you must know someone you could borrow one from for
trouble shooting purposes.

A stuck key can cause the PC to enter BIOS setup.
