Hi,

When I sign on to my user account (Windows XP Pro) the items listed in the
startup folder do not execute, when I run msconfig they are not listed in
the startup items. Can anyone help me to restore this functionality.

TIA......

Type regedit in Start Run

Make sure that

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\UserShell Folders
startup=%USERPROFILE%\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
and
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders
startup=the full path to the folder.

I have mine in the All Users startup folder; it was the only place I could
get them to *start*. Path:C>Documents and Settings>All Users>Start Menu>
Programs>Startup. Try this if you are the sole user or don't have problems
with others using whatever is started up.

Guys,

Thanks for your help. Both registry entries were in place, checked the
location of the shortcuts and they are in the all users startup folder,
moved them to my accounts startup folder and all is well. Any ideas on why
the all users folder is malfunctioning.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders
and it's CommonStartup here.
