I've been searching all over to find out how to create an
emergency startup disk for XP home. In the previous
versions you went under the add/remove programs file to
create one. When I went to create one for XP I couldn't
find the program to make one. The only disk you can make
is a MS-DOS startup disk. Does anyone know how to make a
startup disk for XP home. Please let me know.
Thank you.

Corey

A setup disk for Windows XP would load Windows XP setup -
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q310994

you are right about creating a MS-DOS boot floopy. to do this in "my
computer" you right click on the flopy drive and select "Create MS-DOS boot
disk"

These are really the onyl two types of boot disk's for Windows XP. What are
you wanting to boot into? to previous versions of windows all you could do
is make an MS-DOS boot disk. in Windows XP if your hard drive is formatted
in NTFS these of kind of use less.

for more boot disk's check out www.bootdisk.com

You can download a set from Microsoft. But most people who have an XP installation CD don't need one, because the CD itself, being bootable, serves as one.
