My windows xp has a problem and it won't start even in the safe mode because
i renamed a dll file.

The solution is that I have to log into DOS (using system format files) then
simply rename that file. The problem is when I log into DOS I CANNOT see my C
drive. I see only the A: prompt, Why?

Because the HDD is probably formatted as NTFS which DOS cannot read.
Take a look at NTFS4DOS
