Put a FD in drive and right click and select format and pick select Creat an
Ms-Dos Startup....
Only issue is stuff like FDISK & FORMAT aren't around and you have to use
ME's files and if you don't have ME....
Provided you don't need FDISK, you can format using OFORMAT which is in
Deploy.cab on the XP Pro CD.
CVTAREA is also included for NTFS conversion.
Not sure if BootDisk.Com can help.
Basically you have a number of options to install XP:
1. Boot from the CD ROM. Most people use this option.
2. If your CD ROM drive/BIOS do not support booting, you can start XP
setup from Windows, if it is loaded. Either use Setup.exe (Explorer) or
winnt32.exe (command prompt)
3. Alternative to (2) is to start the computer using Bart's Boot Disk for
CD ROM. Change to the CD ROM containing XP Pro, change to I386 folder,
type winnt and press Enter, this will start XP setup. (Note it is winnt
not winnt32 as described in (2))
4. You can install from a network. If you already have a previous version
of Windows installed, modify (2). If your disk is empty, get Bart's Boot
Disk for MSNET boot to access the network from DOS. Start setup as
described in (3) after logging onto the network and mapping a network
drive.
