Hello,

There is a way to focus our attention to why this may be happening.
A utility on Windows XP called MSconfig.exe can be copied on to your
Windows 2000
system. Once this is present on the computer we can run this and goto the
"startup" tab at the top of the utility window.

In startup, we can see a listing of applications that are loading when we
try to get our desktop.
Each one of these items have a check box beside them. Review and identify
each one.
Remove the check boxes for the items that are not urgent to load at startup.
When finished, we select "apply" and "ok". It will ask you to restart your
system.

In the "startup" section, there is also a selection to "disable all" near
the bottom. By selecting this
and rebooting, this will show you how much faster you will get to your
desktop.

Also, after rebooting the msconfig will appear again. To get rid of this
when you are finished,
merely select the checkbox to "do not display this again at startup".

Keep adjusting using MSconfig and the startup items and you will see a vast
improvement in the login times.
