Here's an odd little occurrence: I just installed a small utility that came
with my mb which monitors temperatures, fan speeds, etc. It originally
showed a taskbar icon as part of the installation. After a couple of
reboots, the icon no longer appears, although the .exe which creates it is
listed in the Run folder in the registry (correct path). It doesn't appear
in the Task Manager until I manually start it, though, so I know it's
definitely not running on startup.
I uninstalled/reinstalled the utility, same thing. My workaround is simple
enough: creating a shortcut in my Startup folder. But I'm curious to know
what could be preventing this app from running as it is intended to do.
According to Startup Cop, it has a priority of 4 (all users); the shortcut I
created in my Startup folder has a priority of 7 (all users).
Is it possible that it somehow gets "lost in the shuffle" when other apps
with the same priority are loading at the same time?
