Startup and Continual Reboot Problem

Hi all,

On startup with XP SP2, unless I press F8 and choos Last Known Config from
the startup menu, the computer just keeps rebooting when it gets to the
password entry screen. No error messages at all, just the constant reboot,
very annoying and very frustrating! Any help would be much appreciated. And
I'm not too much of a computer whizz, so solutions in idiot-speak would be
great if possible!

Many thanks

Could be a problem with registry corruption since it will boot with Last
Known Good Config. See this link for how to troubleshoot it. Also make
sure you have a full and complete backup of all important data. You
should have a current backup at all times.

Did you do something with your system recently before this happened (i.e.
installed new software/hardware, reconfigured system, added stuff etc.)?

GLuck!
