I'm using a laptop which runs Windows XP as its operating system. I've had this laptop for less than 6 months but about 2 months ago it started playing up and now everytime I starst up my computer it takes me between 5-25 minutes to get to my desktop. It takes forever to boot my computer. According to the computer company there is nothing wrong with the hardware. Does it mean something's wrong with the operating system? If I reinstall Windows XP would it make any difference
I would be grateful if anyone could tell me what would be the best thing to do.

If you are not using the program AdAware or similar to get rid of
spyware then go to:-

http://www.lavasoft.de/

Click on the "Download" link on that page to see where to download the
program.

Run it and delete all the spyware it finds.

Update your virus checker signature and do a complete virus check on
your computer.

If you haven't got a virus checker then you can check your system for
free here:-

This may not be your problem but it is worth a try if you have not
already done so.
