I had to reformatt my hardrive back a few months ago. when doing this for
some reason the second computer was not able to "see" the one I reformatted.
A couple of weeks after the reformat, for osme reason, they could "see" each
other again. Now, suddenly, neother one can see each oter to access files. On
the reformated computer (this one is direcely connected to the router) when O
look in my workgroup I can see both computers, but, I can't access it. Onthe
second computer (using a wireless connection) it can't even find the dorkgoup
but still accesses the internet. I have looked through the posts here and
been to the sites and none of it has helped or even made any real sense. I
tried to check my firewalls (I us Cox security suite) and I don't see any way
to even find where the exceptions are.

I just want to start over and create a new workgroup from scratch. How do i
delete the old workgroup?

When you change the workgroup name, on all computers, from the old to the new
name, and wait a while (browser changes are not immediate) the old workgroup
will be gone. But if your problem is related to browser conflict, or to an
overlooked or misconfigured firewall, you'll see the same problem under the new
workgroup. If it comes and goes, you have a browser conflict.

If the posts don't make sense to you, ask questions. Ignoring the problem will
not make it go away. Maybe somebody will learn from your questions.
