Greetings,
The best way would be a REinstall of XP,
you can use the
Files and Settings Transfer Wizard to help the transition -
0. Make BACKUPS of everything just in case -
* My Docs (MOST important - don't trust Windows)
* e-mail
* address book
* other stuff you would hate to lose
(even if its just onto the Hard Drive somewhere, but best is CD-R)
1. Insert XP CD
2. Run the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard
3. Save the data on Hard Drive (e.g. C:\Saved)
4. Boot to Windows XP CD
5. Reinstall NEW Windows (i.e. OVERWRITE old Windows)
(do NOT format the drive, so most things apart from Windows will be intact)
6. Insert XP CD
7. Run the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard
8. Load the data from Hard Drive (C:\Saved)
You will have to then -
* Reinstall AV and AntiSpyware
* Patch Windows
* Reinstall programs (e.g. Office)

I'm using Windows XP Home Edition and there is quite a bit of "crap" and
useless programs that are on my computer. What I am wishing to accomplish
is to start over new with like, the "default" programs on my computer.
Basically I want to "wipe-away" anything that is on my hard drive and start
over with just basic programs. I'm not exactly sure how to do it or if it
is even possible so, if anyone out there knows how I could achieve this,
please let me know.
