Hi,

I don't know if this is a stupid question, but is there a
way to make a system boot diskette in XP?

Put another way, what do I do if one day I start my
computer and it won't boot? How would I recover data from
a hosed system disk?

Is there a way to boot a system with a diskette anymore,
or did that go out the window with Windows XP?

As always, any information on these questions will be most
greatly appreciated.

Best regards,

Well, for starters, the XP CD itself is bootable... Someone around here has
a site with system boot diskettes, and I do believe it's also mentioned on
Microsoft's support site.

If you have to ask if your copy of XP is 32 or 64 bit, it's 32.

First rule. Backup your data on a regular basis - either get a CD writer -
a Zip drive or a tape backup drive
Anything that you do not want to lose should be backed up often.
