Starting a show in the middle

I am creating a very complex show with timings of media reveals, sounds videos etc are critical, The "Custom Animation" preview function does not allow real time assesment of whether my timings are right or look good
To do this I must run the show.
However I have to start from the begining of the show each time. Exit edit then re-try but from the First slide each time
This is a real waste of time. Is there a way to join the show or start the show from slide 21 for example
Or better can I preview a slide or two as they will look in the show?

When in Edit mode, click on the Slide Show icon in the lower left corner (it
looks like screen on a stand) and the show will begin with the slide you
currently have displayed in edit mode.
