I know this is a really basic question but... what is the difference -
resources used, etc. - between having a shortcut in the Start menu or the
QuickLaunch bar or on the desktop screen. I want quick access to my most
commonly used programs and currently these shortcuts are spread between the
above three places. Not very efficient, really.

I do not believe there is any discernible resource difference between the 3

I have short cuts on the desk top. For toys (internet explorer, media
player, internet TV) I use quick launch; I also have the show desktop
shortcut on there as well. The start menu is for programms I use

all items in start menu are basically shortcuts.

resources. doesn't apply. All the same.

Thanks for the help. Since there is no difference which shortcut "holding

shortcuts by type. I eliminated QuickLaunch altogether and left the Start
menu for internet and e-mail. Much more efficient.
