There are certain programs that start automatically when
the computer is turned on.

How do I modify those (ie: pick and choose which ones I
want to automatically start... and which ones I DON'T
want to automatically start)?

Thx,
laverne

Don't panic Mary. Adding the run under your start button
is very simple. right click your start. Then click
properties. Then the start menu tab then the customize
button and then the advanced tab and close to the bottom
of the list put a check mark in the "run command" box and
it will be there the next time you boot. This doesn't take
up any more resources either as it's already on your
system you are just giving yourself access to it. Always
make sure when installing programs that you check their
configuration to see if it is set to start when windows
starts and if so then uncheck this option. All I have
start at bootup is my Norton anti-Virus,Logon loader and
the wheel mouse. Everything else is started when I want it
to. Please be sure that you never place programs or files
on your desktop. Just shortcuts. Also note that these are
programs and not processes. Keep smiling.
