looking in my System Configuration utility and in the start up menu, I have
tons of programs that are unchecked yet a few of them pop up with a check
after 2 days or so..... is there any way to remove these from that list
permanetly?
Thanks in advance

Some of them come from programs that want to load at startup.
Check the folder under Start>Programs>Startup.
Deleting these programs will permanently remove them from the system config
startup menu.
The rest will have options in program to "not display icon" in systray.
The others will have to uninstall program or edit registry to remove.
I don't think you want to manually edit the registry. Can be catastrophic!!!

How about posting the complete list?

To remove disabled items from the startup list in msconfig delete the
unwanted subkeys of

[HKLM\Software\Microsoft\SharedTools\MSConfig\startupfolder]
and
[HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shared Tools\MSConfig\startupreg]
