Start Up Problems

I was wondering if anyone has had this problem, or knows what the problem is or how to resolve it.

I am running Windows XP Home.

When I turn on my PC, it attempts to start up and then before it finishes loading Windows the PC turns off. At that point if you try to hit the PC on button to turn back on nothing happens. You must wait a few minutres, before it lets you turn back on. It will then attempt to start again, but tell you that there was a problem on last start up and give you options on how you want to start up this time (normal, safe mode, etc) Once I started in Safe Mode and from there restarted the PC and it loaded Windows just fine. But I have tried that again and it did not work. I have also restored now 2 months backwards trying to fix this.

Has anyone experienced this or know what this problem relates to? Do you know if it is a Software problem or Hardware problem?

Any help would be appreicated.

IF YOU ARE able to BOOT THE COMPUTER THIS TIME AND YOU GET WINDOWS JUST CLICK ON START--run--type msconfig and click on ok.On this system confrigation utility window put a mark on selective startup and uncheck service tab.And if after unchecking service tab it starts normaly.Just start checking one by one all the services and see after checking which service it starts again to behaving in the same manner.Just uncheck that service to eliminate to happen it again.
Below is the link to check which service is criticle and has to be in startup mode.
