start up problem

when I first start my computer it takes a long time for
the computer to find my computer. flashlight searches for
several minutes and during this time I can't type address
in browser due to it takes to long. any suggestions?

Do you use a DSL or cable?
If you do:
1) Access Network Connections in the Control Panel
2) Select your Network Card for the high speed or LAN
connection.
3) Look for "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" and Select it.
4) Click on the properties button.
5) Put a dot in the radio button for "Use the following IP
address". NOTE: If a dot already exists here than this
help procedure is not for you thus skip the rest of this
help.
6) Add the following: IP address:192.168.0.1 and Subnet
mask 255.255.255.0.
