If that does not help, see what startup applications are running. Get the Autoruns utility (as they call "superset of MSConfig") from
www.sysinternals.com and inspect the startup programs.

The folder "My Documents" pops up when I first turn on my computer and log
onto my account.
How can I stop this from happening ?
Also, the disk defragmenter utility does not work.
How can I fix that ?
