When my Win XP Pro starts up, once every day there is an error message. I
hear it with one of Windows sounds during the welcome screen and its there
once the desktop wallpaper loads. It happens the first start up each day but
not on later start ups. It reads, Windows cannot find the file "Copy". It
may have been moved or deleted, BLAH.......BLAH......BLAH How can I find
out what is causing this error?

1. Open Regedit by going to Start>>Run and then typing regedit.

2. Then do a find for "winshow" When any key is found, delete it by
pressing the delete key. Be sure to hit the F3 (Find Next) key after
each. There are about 10 or so that need to be find. Regedit will say
"Finished Searching" when complete.

3. Repeat the same step above, but this time search for "winlink"

4. After that is done, close regedit.

5. You will then have to search for the the .dll files stored on the
harddrive. Go to search for files at c: Then search for "winshow" and
"winlink" Delete any files that you find. (Im my case I did not find
any files named winlink)

6. Restart the computer

You may also want to try MSCONFIG, remove all and
restart. I run nothing on startup untill I want.
