Hi,

Could I using Win 98 startup disk to detect my CR-Rom ,
then put in my Win XP CD to run a setup ?

The answer is no. The reason being is if you type in
setup you get a message cannot be run in dos mode. To
start setup you must go to the I386 directory on the cd
and type in winnt.exe to start setup. You also need to
have smartdrv running on the computer first as well to
speed up the proccess.Saying that, your best bet is to
boot form the XP cd to install XP. To achieve this enter
your computers bios and set the boot order so that the cd
rom is the first boot device.
