Start - New Programms Installed

After a recent program installation, the notice when I
click the Start button saying New Programs Installed, now
appears every time I click the Start button, the message
will now not go away!

That message usually appears one time, the first time I
hit the Start button after a new program has been
installed. Thereafter the message doesn't appear anymore,
till another new program is installed.

How do I get rid of this message that has now become
cronic?

Right-click START, choose PROPERTIES|CUSTOMIZE|ADVANCED tab
Uncheck the appropriate box
