When I first start the computer I get 2 programs that open up.
When I had Windows 98 I used to be able to select from the start menu
what programs I wanted open when I first started my computer.
How can I select my programs in Windows XP?

Tell the programs you have in your tray NOT to start when windows
starts.

When you install new ware, tell it NOT to start when Windows starts.

Use msconfig | startup as a last resort.
